CHHS Color Guard Staff:

Band Director Mr. Chris Kuhlemeier

Mr. K took over as the CHHS Band Director in the Summer of 2022. His musical expertise ranges very widely from the bass recorder to the triangle, his abilities stemming from his impressive education and work experience. Starting at Valley High School he graduated bottom of his class (very prestigious) and then went on to study Music Education at Southern Utah University. He has held a wide range of jobs preparing him for his role as band director, such as a crewman at McDonald's, cashier and salesperson at Walmart, and head theremin player for his band; Foxy Grandpa. We cannot thank him enough for his support of our CHHS color guard.

Color Guard Director Brandt Winn

Brandt started his dance education from an early age. Taking great interest in musical theater and dance performances in middle school. He first started color guard at Westlake High School in the summer of 2015 and he hasn't stopped since. After serving as head color guard captain, he graduated and started his studies at the University of Utah and got his first color guard teaching job at CHHS as a technician. Soon after he joined Wasatch Independent for their 2020 winter guard season. He then became very poor and ran out of money for college so he enlisted in the U.S. Army Reserves working as a chemical operations specialist where he still serves to this day. After graduating advanced individual training, he came back to CHHS as their assistant color guard director. In the winter of 2021-2022 he took over as CHHS's head color guard director. He knows the program and the students well and hopes to inspire them to continue their music and dance education because of the benefits it brought him in his life. He can often be found crying in his car listening to folk punk music or working as a shift lead at Chili's Grill and Bar.

Color Guard Assistant Director Julianna Keele Lauritzen

Julianna (Jules) is a color guard and musical savant. She has a passion for the performing arts and pursues it in her everyday life. Starting at Maple Mountain High School she set herself apart as a dignified and impressive performer while simultaneously working full time as a manager at Cold Stone Creamery. After graduation she went on to be apart of the Battalion Drum & Bugle Corps's Color Guard for multiple seasons, proving her strength and tenacity marching an entire season on a broken foot. That would not be the end of her displays of strength, she joined the CHHS color guard team in the summer of 2022, just 1 week after she gave birth to her beautiful grumpy baby, Juliet Lauritzen. Her name being influenced by the romantic era theme of our 2022 fall show. Outside of color guard she can be found cooking and baking amazing treats for her friends and family as well as being the luckiest woman on earth being married to a 6'12" rocket scientist.
